Welcome! I’m Heather Jewell, a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate under supervision of Vicki Sears, MA, LPC-S.

I believe therapy is one of the best gifts that you can give yourself or your child. There is power in learning to understand yourself better, and I would be thrilled to be a part of your journey of self- discovery. I believe that it is never too late to change patterns that aren’t serving you in life, and to create relationships that bring joy.

I love working with people of all ages, and a variety of issues. Using cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), as well as other techniques, we can work together to lift the weight that can come with anxiety, depression, grief, abuse, trauma, divorce, and other issues.

When I work with couples, I use attachment theory to help both partners understand how they contribute to the “dance” that can sometimes leave them feeling stuck and frustrated. Having a third party’s perspective can be helpful in seeing things that can be difficult to recognize otherwise.

I also enjoy working with individuals with (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) ADHD. While ADHD can be frustrating in the way that symptoms manifest in life, I also believe it can be a super power in many ways. Learning about the strengths and weaknesses that come with this diagnosis can be empowering for many adults and children.

I have a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice, as well as Master’s degree in Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling. I have three incredible kids, and love to travel, read, and serve in my church and community. I also offer faith based counseling if desired.

What to expect

It’s important to me that we are a good fit for each other. If I’m not the right therapist for you, I can help direct you to someone who might be. Please feel free to email, text, or call me for a free 15 minute consultation.

If you would like to set up an appointment, I’ll email/text paperwork that needs to be completed before we meet in person. You’ll also get a text reminder of your appointment the day or two before.

If the appointment is for a minor, the first time we meet will be both the parent and child. After that, parents can meet with me as often as they would like for check-ins. Every family is different, so we can work together to decide what is the most helpful.
